“This song was originally and roughly formed a few years ago about the impending weight of the future. It almost made it onto Black Mile, but hadn’t fully formed yet. We spent some solid time this year revisiting and reworking and recording the song into it’s final state. I found it inspiring to work on this song right before the birth of my son, which was and is beautiful impending weight.”

  1. Right now I'm in recovery. I've found the man I'm going to marry and I'm finally in a safe place. This song has a special place in my heart because it perfectly encaptures the melancholy feeling that is recovery. If anyone is going through something similar, or worse, it does get better, actually, and keep on going, we are in this together.

  2. Right so my mother had cancer and everyday after school when we were driving to the hospital my dad would stick this song on and it would calm me down from all the emotional stress and pain I was going through.
Close song to my heart ever since luckily my mother survived and is currently going through chemotherapy

  3. My best friend of 38 years died unexpectedly yesterday. He turned me on to this song a couple of weeks ago. Never knew it would be with me forever. But like his spirit I know it will be. God speed Erin…you can see clearly now.

  4. It's wonderful, but I can't help but notice that the melody appears to be lifted from the closing part of the song "The Alien"…..or it's the other way around and after deciding not to use the song they took the melody and baked it into The Alien and The Sunshine. Either way…love it.

  5. Doesn't it feel great when your teacher plays this song and you don't know the name so you go home with like 4 lyrics in your head and you find it!!!! This is amazing and it's an amazing song.

  6. Seriously, every single song that you guys release is absolutely amazing, and I am in awe. Andy's voice is one of the best singing voices I have ever heard. I love you guys so much!
